Hi :)
My name is Coda Sattalon Dana - also recognized as VC BloodShine Designs, Sick Puppy Productions, and MatrixMutt Graphics. I am currently a student at Broome Community College of New York, majoring in Graphic Design, which makes me - of course - an aspiring graphic design and multimedia artist
I have been working (slooooowly) on a novel series entitled The Lazzerisk Theory for much of my life, dreaming up the characters from the days of my early childhood. Many of my drawings, as you will see, are of these characters.

Most of my earlier work was done with use of a reference. I can draw just about anything I see. This isn't always a good thing though - it is the reason I was banned from DeviantArt, which I absolutely do NOT recommend to ANYONE. The DA site has a nice (though somewhat complicated) layout and a majority of kind people, but the administration there is arrogant, unfair, judgmental and thoroughly useless (from what I experienced anyway). I openly admitted my use of a reference on one of the items I posted there. It had been in the Balto-like style of drawing wolves with - of course - a Balto reference used. However, a girl accused me of stealing her work, which was remarkably similar to mine. After speaking with the girl, though, we came to the conclusion that we had probably just used a similar reference (ah-der ), and we both apologized to each other, no hard feelings. The administration at DA refused to listen to this, and an admin called "Damphyr" kept removing my artwork and suspending me until I exploded in rage at her for her stubbornness and lack of understanding. She then accused me of "continued harassment" - which was entirely untrue - and banned me from the site all together.
Just to top it all off, she knew "Arcadia-Sin" was (note the word "was") my boyfriend at the time, and she therefore banned him for "providing access to a banned member" even though he did NOTHING wrong, was NEVER involved, and NOT ONCE did he let me on his account! Needless to say, I dislike her :)
Now, my thoughts are that DA can go fuck themselves ...No offense at all to anyone who is a member of DA and likes it there - most of the actual artists are absolutely amazing, and kind and fair on top of that. I speak out for those of us who have been treated unfairly by the DA staff. Though this "SheezyArt" site seems much smaller, it also seems much more lenient, comfortable and kind. I think I will enjoy my stay here.
Besides, I think half the problem with DA is that it does have so many members. Its size alone permits the staff to treat members like useless things with no thoughts or opinions or feelings, because they're not worried about losing one or two or a hundred or a thousand people since they have a billion more to spare! It's sad really...And I propose we take that power from DA by flocking to this place instead, where everyone seems soooooo much nicer :)

Since the DA episode not too long ago, I have tried my best to refrain from any sort of reference use at all. However, I will be posting some of my older work - along with the original Balto-like drawing (called "Lave Levath") that got me into that mess in the first place. I continue to stand by my art because I am proud of it, and I always mention my references, and I never claim full ownership over something that isn't completely and entirely my own. I do not condone nor partake in Art Theft. None of my works are submitted for monetary gain - ESPECIALLY none that had use of a reference - so I sincerely see no harm done. Please feel free to contact me in any way you like if you have any questions or concerns. I will be happy to answer them to the best of my abilities.
Let me just say that the world is beautiful, even if there can be so little originality left in it. We, as artist, feed from one another and live off of the brilliant work surrounding us. We create that which we love and aspire to be. I believe use of a reference is an honor and a compliment to the original work, as long as proper credit is given and no monetary gain is involved. Therefore, please feel free to use any of my works as references for your own creations - just be sure to link back to my originals
